Hi! 👋 You’ve found the JEN_AI project, an experiment in human/machine hybrid creativity.
I’m Jenni Munroe, I work in tech (CV: Google/DeepMind/Accenture) and I set myself the challenge of learning the latest in AI & technology by messing around with the latest in AI & technology.
My first challenge was to co-create a newsletter on the latest AI & tech, using - you guessed it - the latest in AI & tech. I’ve now put the original blog post into ChatGPT for the hell of it and thrown it below. Let’s go!
Here’s *ChatGPT’s edit* of the original JEN_AI post:
//What’s this all about?
Hi, I’m Jenni Munroe. I work at Google, formerly at DeepMind, and once dabbled in AI research trying to teach machines how to draw grass and strawberries. (Spoiler: it was magical and ridiculous.)
Now, while on maternity leave, I’m diving back into tech with “JEN_AI” — an experiment to:
1. Get up to speed with AI & tech.
2. Play with AI & tech while I do it.
First up: a hybrid GenAI/JenAI newsletter, NET_NEW News, bringing you byte-size tech-culture updates for edutainment. Enough chat. Let’s GPT.

2024: AI, BioTech, and Literal Moonshots.
Gilead’s 6-month HIV prevention shot scored big. Google flexed quantum tech. SpaceX’s “chopsticks” caught rockets. And AI? Designing proteins, out-diagnosing doctors, and meme-ing hard.

//Reflections on the Process
This week, I used:
• ChatGPT: Content collaborator, motivator, and writer’s block destroyer.
• Substack: Simple, slick newsletter tool. Perfect for now, though Ghost is tempting for long-term plans.
Quick takeaway: Writing alongside AI is weirdly empowering. It’s like having a coach who cheers on your silliest ideas. Bonus: no humans had to endure my “brain sneezes.”
What’s next for JEN_AI?
• Interview Gemini?
• Try AI video?
• Test your suggestions?
Thanks for joining the experiment. Until next time!
(P.S. The irony of starting a blog in the age of AI isn’t lost on me. Maybe there’s hope for humanity yet.)
</ end of ChatGPT’d post>
Aaaaaand… thanks for the edit, bot buddy.
So - thoughts? Is it better than my original post? (Note: in the original post my commentary was written by me but the newsletter was a joint effort with ChatGPT.)
Well, probably. It’s certainly shorter! It cut through my rambling commentary like a chainsaw. Effective, though we did lose a few branches there.
Niggles: I had to format the post. It also said that I was back from maternity leave, which I corrected.
ChatGPT: better for brevity with flair (if you’re not already a media professional)
Me: points for doing all the other stuff you need to get a newsletter setup nice and sent and accurate, and if you want to connect with a real human bean (duh)
Alright that’s it for today but I’ve been busy at JEN_AI HQ. Coming up we’ve got an AI podcast fail, an exclusive (kinda) interview with Google Gemini, and what happened when the cast of Wicked met a quantum content creator.
